Reasons Why Tony Chavis Is Running For Sheriff

In the United States, there are national, regional and local elections. As such, it can often be beneficial for voters to know about different candidates and platforms. When it comes to <a href="http://chavisforsheriff.com/">Tony Chavis</a>, the former SCHP patrol officer is hoping to become Sheriff of Darlington County.
A retired highway patrolman, Tony has worked tirelessly to promote safety along highways in the state. Having retired in 2016, the candidate continues to have a strong interest in enforcing the law. As such, Mr. Chavis is hoping to obtain a number of votes from local residents this November.
A family man, with a loving wife, one son and four daughters, discipline is nothing new. Being the son of the late Audrey and J. W. Chavis, the man is well known in the area. Being so well known, is most likely because of having spent a great deal of time socializing with family, friends and community members over the course of a lifetime.
Tony graduated from Wallace High School and the South Carolina Justice Academy. Whereas, the candidate also spent a few years playing football for South Carolina University. These educational accomplishments and experiences have contributed heavily to this ongoing interest in law enforcement.
From 1990 to 1991, the candidate served in the United States Marines. While there is no record of why service ended after only one year, the former Marine is still considered to be a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Those interested as to why this may be case before voting, can check public records to determine whether or not Mr. Chavis received an honorable or dishonorable discharge.
Other involvement includes being an active part of the community by contributing to non-profits and other organizations. For example, the candidate is often the first to make donations when it comes to local organizations and sponsored events. As such, Mr. Chavis is also well respected among a number of non-profit organizations and community groups.
While other candidates also have impressive platforms, many in the area believe Tony is the right person for the job. One reason this is the case, is the candidate's belief that areas prone to criminal activity can often be reformed. In addition, the candidate plans on continuing existing programs of neighbor watches, community organizing and school presentations.
The candidate has always seen community as the first line of defense against crime. Whether through neighbor watch groups, security systems, web cameras, or stronger police presence, Mr. Chavis believes these and other processes have a great potential to reduce crime. In areas more prone to criminal activity, the candidate believes placing bicycle, foot and other patrols will also result in more arrests.
Mainly focused on community, education and law enforcement, the former patrolman also wants to build stronger community partnerships. As part of this plan, the candidate intends to create stronger communication between citizens and police organizations throughout the state.
