Using Fake Tan Cream To Create A Sunless Tan

Sunless tanning works through chemical reactions when chemicals are applied to the skin. These chemical reactions produce the familiar tinted skin known as a tan. The effects are more short term than a natural tan, with most last about a week before a new application is needed.
A skin reaction could possibly occur in people with skin sensitivity issues when they use fake tan cream. Testing on a small patch of skin should always be done before a full application takes place. A waiting period of 24 hours, after the test area is covered, should occur to insure no rash is going to develop. After the waiting period, no reaction means a person is free to apply the cream to their entire body.
A natural looking tan can be easily created within a person's home with fake tan cream. For best results, cream should only be applied to clean and dry skin. The cream should be given a period of one to six hours to absorb before the user showers or swims as well.
Areas like the hands and feet have thicker layers of skin so heavy coating should be avoided if possible. Too much cream could turn these areas a significantly darker shade than the rest of the body. Another alternative is to apply the cream to these areas and then wash it away a few minutes later. This technique will give a light tan to those areas.
Quality fake tan cream should be used rather than some of the cheaper varieties. Many cheaper creams offer little, if any, results. The higher end creams almost always work extremely well. They also require less of the cream to be applied as well.
