Do The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Puppies MI Breeders Sell Fit Your Personality
by Raymond Moore
Even if dogs aren't your favorite pets, you would have to have a pretty cold heart not to be affected by the huge brown eyes of a spaniel puppy. They will have you considering how you can rearrange your schedule, rent a bigger apartment, and find a second job in order to be able to take one home. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels puppies MI breeders sell, are on the high end of the cuteness scale, but they are not for everybody.
Cavaliers are small, gentle animals that work well for people who don't have much space. Most of them weigh around fifteen pounds and stand about a foot tall as adults. They can live comfortably in a condo or loft apartment. Cavaliers are not docile dogs. Most of them have a stubborn, independent streak. Training them isn't too hard, as long as they understand who is in charge.
Families with older children and existing pets in the household usually have good luck with Cavaliers. They are pretty tolerant as long as nobody tries to force them into rough play. You can't overstate how dependent these animals are on companionship. If they are left on their own for any length of time, they will bark, whine, and destroy everything in their path.
They may look like dogs that only want to cuddle and nap on your lap, but Cavaliers come from a hunting breed. This means they are active, energetic animals that are inclined to run and chase. Your pet will need at least two good walks a day, on a leash. If you let a Cavalier alone in the backyard, it better be fenced or your pet will be gone.
Another thing potential owners have to understand is that these dogs often have major health issues that can shorten their lives. One half of these dogs, over the age of five, are affected with genetic heart and neurological diseases. The Cavaliers that live to ten almost all have some form of heart disease. They can also inherit hip dysplasia, eye disease, and epilepsy.
If you want a sweet little dog you don't intend to train as a watchdog, this could be a good pet for your household. For those who work independently from home and have the flexibility to stop and spend some time with an animal, a Cavalier might be perfect. You have to be willing to take the chance your pet will have health issues that require the costly care of a good vet.
If you don't have the patience to work with a puppy that tends to be shy and timid, this breed might not work for you. You have to make the commitment to groom the animal nearly every day and vacuum fur off rugs and furniture on a regular basis. For people who can't afford the kind of care this animal might need, choosing one of these puppies wouldn't be fair to either one of you.
Cavaliers are gorgeous, little dogs that love their owners. The breed will capture your heart and make a dog lover out of you. As long as one is in your home, you will have a dear and devoted friend.
