Students make mistakes and they will get the best corrections from their tutors. While they are going about their session, the tutor should have a notebook in which he should be writing down any mistakes that they notice. After the session, the mistakes will be addressed and the students will get to know where they went wrong. Corrections will further improve their language.
The trainer is the best person to answer the questions that will be asked by the students. It is okay to let them answer each other as it will also help you gauge their skills, but it should not be done in your absence. The students might mislead each other. You may not be sure of the answer to some questions too and you are encouraged to research on them first.
It is the work of a teacher to motivate the students through encouragement. They may be excited about learning a new language at the beginning but they might get discouraged as things get tougher. You need to talk to them, both as a class and as individuals. Let them understand that the challenges are normal and they should not give up.
It is very important to follow up on the students. In most schools, students are taught by different teachers at different levels. They will appreciate if you still show your concern even after they have already left your class. They may feel free to discuss their challenges with you and not with the teacher they currently have. You will help them a great deal.
